Names

I realized after I did yesterday's post that I forgot to include the news that we finally decided on the boys names. Drumroll please...

Baby A is James Elbert Sims, III after his daddy and Pop-Pop and we will call him JT for short.

Baby B is Jarin Harrington Sims, a combo of his daddy & mommies names as well as my maiden name for the middle name. Jarin also is Hebrew for He Will Sing which we thought was fitting :)

So there you go, no more Baby A Baby B :)

Weeks 21 & 22

The boys room is coming along! Jae put the rocking chairs together that my dad sent us and they look great!

I went fabric shopping last week and got all of the material that Nana & I will need to make the boys crib set (bumpers, sheets, blankets & skirt) as well as curtains, covers for the rocking chair cushions and accent pillows. I am so excited to learn how to sew (on my new sewing machine that Doc & Cherry are getting me for my birthday!) and am so honored that Nana is doing this for her grandsons.

Our friend Sara sent us a box (22lbs!) of clothes that her boys (she's now pregnant w/ her 3rd!) have outgrown. We had so much fun going through the mounds and mounds of clothes, picturing what our little men will look like. I bought a bunch of hangers and hung up as much as I could, and theres still more to go! These boys are hooked up for months to come!

Forgot to take a pregnancy picture at 21 weeks so here is one at 22 weeks. I don't look much bigger than the last picture but I really am! I feel like I popped overnight.

Next update in 2 weeks after we go to the doctor. We'll have more pictures of the boys and hoepfully some more ultrasound footage. Till then, love ya'll!

Week 20

As promised here are pictures & videos from our 20 week ultrasound!

They are both definitely boys :)

Both are doing great! Baby A weighs 14 ounces and Baby B weighs 12 ounces. Heartrates, measurements and everything they looked
at were right on track. Our ultrasound tech said she hadn't seen twins this active in a very long time :)

3-D pictures of Baby A (the cord is NOT wrapped around his neck, it is draped over his shoulder). Baby B was partially hidden by Baby A so she could not get good pictures of him. I think Baby A looks like his daddy :)

They are currently lying head to head (conspiring against us already the ultrasound tech said) and are diagonal so thier little heads are on my left side up towards my ribcage and thier bums & feet are on my lower right side (where I've been feeling most of the movement!)

And here are some vidoes that Jae pieced together off of the DVD they gave us:

Video 1 shows Baby A jumping around:

Video 2 shows Baby B mostly chilling out:

Video 3 is of both of them, showing how they are lying next to each other, head to head and foot to foot:

Weeks 18 & 19

It's been another eventfull 2 weeks. We got new carpet installed upstairs and in our master bedroom. Here is a picture of how the boys room looks w/ the new carpet. I love it and it's nice and soft for when they start rolling around / crawling / walking (ah!!!!).

Jae's next project will be to sand and paint the 2 dressers that were his dad's when he was younger as well as Jae's when he was a boy. How cool that 3 generations of Sims (Sr., Jr. and the III) will be using the same furniture!

As for me I seem to be getting less mobile each day. It is getting harder to bend over to put on my shoes or to pick something up and by the end of each day all I want to do is collapse into bed. Jae got me a prenatal massage (I have the best husband!) last Monday and oh boy was it awesome! She focused on my lower back and hips where I have been having lots of discomfort. She is a mother of 17 year old triplets so she knows just what I am going through. I already have an appointment to see her next month. :)

Here is a week 19 pregnancy pic... do I look bigger to you???

Last night as I was propped up in bed watching TV, hands clasped over my belly I felt the first external kick. I yelled to Jae who probably thought something was wrong as he came running in the room and he was able to feel them kick as well. We both had tears in our eyes as we just can't believe there are little humans inside of me. God is SO good!

Expect another post either Thursday or Friday as we go to the doctor for our 20 week check-up and ultrasound. There may even be a video surprise!!! Love you all!
