Yes I know... I've been remiss in posting a blog update! I am making up for it with lots of pictures and information. The last 4 weeks have certainly been busy ones full of surprises! We took a trip to Florida, had a surprise shower there, had another surprise shower a week later along w/ a surprise visit from my mom, had our 28 week OB appointment and started childbirth classes. Phew... a lot to update :)
Florida was a blast, we drove 14+ hours each way (not a blast!) to Haines City, FL to spend a long weekend with my college friends. The house was AMAZING and being pregnant sure has it's perks because Jae and I got a master bedroom w/ our own bathroom! Sunday I was surprised w/ a pregnancy massage from my Secret Santa Pam (yes we did Christmas in March!). Little did I know it was to get Jae and I out of the house so they could set up for our surprise shower. We came back to a decorated living room full of food, presents and friends! A friend who I haven't seen in years who lives in Florida came for the occasion and we enjoyed yummy food, silly games and great presents. The girls all chipped in to get us clothes, blankets, towels, bathrobes and one of our pack-n-plays w/ a built in bassinet. Auntie Lauren got us our other one! They also made us a Crackie ABC book for the boys which made me dissolve into tears!
The following Sunday, Jae and I headed to our friend Chris Boyd's house for what we thought was a surprise birthday party for her husband Andy. Lo and behold it was a surprise shower for us! Cherry, Reese, Chris, Kristy & small group ladies were all there. I was whisked in and told that my mom had sent down a surprise that she wanted me to see and call her about right away, it was Rhode Island pizza YUM-O! So I promptly picked up my phone to call her, only to hear a cell phone ringing in the same room as me. My mom popped out of another room and lots of hugs and tears ensued. It was the first time she had seen me pregnant and the first time we had seen each other since last May! We enjoyed fellowship, great food and lots of presents. We got our double stroller, thermometer and lots of baby essentials, homemade blankets, scrapbooks w/ pages all set to put pictures in, johnny jump-ups, books, stuffed animals, clothes, our cribs and much more!
At our 28 week OB appointment I had my glucose test (which I did not pass and have to go in for a 3 hour long one!) and my Rhogam shot because of my blood type. At the last moment our OB decided she wanted me to have an ultrasound so she could she how much the boys weighed. Good thing because we found out that my cervix is slightly opened. It's called funneling and looks like this >----- with the opening on the inside w/ JT's head right up against it. We go back next week for another ultrasound to see if it has opened anymore. So we ask for your prayers because these little men need to stay inside as long as possible! Here are 3-D pics of JT and Jarin who now weigh 3.4lbs and 3.5lbs respectively!
On a sad note this week brought a huge change in our household. Our department at work is restructuring and with that change Jae's job has been eliminated. We are clinging to God, each other and family and friends during this time and ask for prayers as a lot of decisions and changes have to be made. We know that this is all in God's plan for us and that He has it all under control!
Here’s a picture of me at 26 weeks
