Names

I realized after I did yesterday's post that I forgot to include the news that we finally decided on the boys names. Drumroll please...

Baby A is James Elbert Sims, III after his daddy and Pop-Pop and we will call him JT for short.

Baby B is Jarin Harrington Sims, a combo of his daddy & mommies names as well as my maiden name for the middle name. Jarin also is Hebrew for He Will Sing which we thought was fitting :)

So there you go, no more Baby A Baby B :)

Weeks 21 & 22

The boys room is coming along! Jae put the rocking chairs together that my dad sent us and they look great!

I went fabric shopping last week and got all of the material that Nana & I will need to make the boys crib set (bumpers, sheets, blankets & skirt) as well as curtains, covers for the rocking chair cushions and accent pillows. I am so excited to learn how to sew (on my new sewing machine that Doc & Cherry are getting me for my birthday!) and am so honored that Nana is doing this for her grandsons.

Our friend Sara sent us a box (22lbs!) of clothes that her boys (she's now pregnant w/ her 3rd!) have outgrown. We had so much fun going through the mounds and mounds of clothes, picturing what our little men will look like. I bought a bunch of hangers and hung up as much as I could, and theres still more to go! These boys are hooked up for months to come!

Forgot to take a pregnancy picture at 21 weeks so here is one at 22 weeks. I don't look much bigger than the last picture but I really am! I feel like I popped overnight.

Next update in 2 weeks after we go to the doctor. We'll have more pictures of the boys and hoepfully some more ultrasound footage. Till then, love ya'll!

Week 20

As promised here are pictures & videos from our 20 week ultrasound!

They are both definitely boys :)

Both are doing great! Baby A weighs 14 ounces and Baby B weighs 12 ounces. Heartrates, measurements and everything they looked
at were right on track. Our ultrasound tech said she hadn't seen twins this active in a very long time :)

3-D pictures of Baby A (the cord is NOT wrapped around his neck, it is draped over his shoulder). Baby B was partially hidden by Baby A so she could not get good pictures of him. I think Baby A looks like his daddy :)

They are currently lying head to head (conspiring against us already the ultrasound tech said) and are diagonal so thier little heads are on my left side up towards my ribcage and thier bums & feet are on my lower right side (where I've been feeling most of the movement!)

And here are some vidoes that Jae pieced together off of the DVD they gave us:

Video 1 shows Baby A jumping around:

Video 2 shows Baby B mostly chilling out:

Video 3 is of both of them, showing how they are lying next to each other, head to head and foot to foot:

Weeks 18 & 19

It's been another eventfull 2 weeks. We got new carpet installed upstairs and in our master bedroom. Here is a picture of how the boys room looks w/ the new carpet. I love it and it's nice and soft for when they start rolling around / crawling / walking (ah!!!!).

Jae's next project will be to sand and paint the 2 dressers that were his dad's when he was younger as well as Jae's when he was a boy. How cool that 3 generations of Sims (Sr., Jr. and the III) will be using the same furniture!

As for me I seem to be getting less mobile each day. It is getting harder to bend over to put on my shoes or to pick something up and by the end of each day all I want to do is collapse into bed. Jae got me a prenatal massage (I have the best husband!) last Monday and oh boy was it awesome! She focused on my lower back and hips where I have been having lots of discomfort. She is a mother of 17 year old triplets so she knows just what I am going through. I already have an appointment to see her next month. :)

Here is a week 19 pregnancy pic... do I look bigger to you???

Last night as I was propped up in bed watching TV, hands clasped over my belly I felt the first external kick. I yelled to Jae who probably thought something was wrong as he came running in the room and he was able to feel them kick as well. We both had tears in our eyes as we just can't believe there are little humans inside of me. God is SO good!

Expect another post either Thursday or Friday as we go to the doctor for our 20 week check-up and ultrasound. There may even be a video surprise!!! Love you all!

Week 17

Here is a week 17 pregnancy picture... getting bigger :)

We started work on the boys room this week, and by we I mean Jae. :) He ripped up the old carpet, gave the trim and doors a fresh coat of white paint and painted the walls a grey/blue, Spanish Bluebell to be exact. It looks SO good, this picture does not do it justice.

We have the carpet guys coming in next week to measure so hopefully the new carpet will be in by the first week in February! After the carpet is in Jae will get to work on the full wall bookshelf that he is building for the boys room. It will look something like the picture below, just the angled part and it will be white.

After the boys room is done we will get to work on the upstairs bathroom. Painting the trim and doors white and the walls the same blue as the boys room. We are putting in a new white vanity, sink & faucet! Lots of changes to be made for our little men on the way!

Weeks 15 & 16

Weeks 15 & 16 have been the most eventful yet! I am definitely showing and could not believe the enclosed picture when Jae showed it to me, actually he took another one first said I was not going to believe how big I looked and then took this one which is why there is such an odd look on my face... it was shocking because looking down or in the mirror I don't look this big to myself... this picture was at 15 weeks so I can only imagine what I will look like soon!

Yesterday, we went to our new OB (praise God she is great!!! I was nervous to go to someone that I knew nothing about) and sat at the doctors for 3 hours! They did blood work, an internal exam, and a ultrasound. Everything is going great and we were able to find out that we are having 2 boys!!! Jae was a puddle of tears and my mouth was on the floor... it took me the rest of the day to process but now I am so excited for 2 little boys! everyone keeps telling me how much boys love their momma and I started thinking of how they could share a room, how they could share clothes, toys, etc.! A little girl would have been a precious gift from God but I am excited for the gift of 2 boys, just praying they don't take too much after their daddy, j/k! Here is their 16 week ultrasound pic.

I believe I have begun feeling them. It's hard to describe what I'm feeling so I am not 100% sure but my OB said it was most likely them. It's low in my belly and it feels like a heartbeat thumping, of course I know it's not their heartbeat but that's what it feels like. They were very active again yesterday on the ultrasound, Baby A was waving at us and at one point he turned from a front view to a back view so they are doing flips and having a grand old time in there. Our OB said we are aiming for 38 weeks and that would be a due date of June 16th. We go back to the OB at 20 weeks for our big ultrasound where they will do all the measurements, etc. I'll try to post pregnancy pics between now and then. Love you all!

Week 14

We got to see our babies yesterday and boy have they grown in 3 weeks! Both babies are doing great, I'd tell you heartbeats and measurements but she kept switching between Baby A and Baby B so I'm all confused :) I do know heartbeats were great and one baby was measuring at 14 weeks 3 days and the other at 14 weeks 1 day so right on schedule! It was the first external ultrasound so the pictures aren't as clear as before and we didn't get 3-D pics this time. It was our last appointment with the fertility clinic as I go to my new OB in 2 weeks. They made us promise to come back when I'm all big and waddling and to send pictures when the babies are here. We are so blessed to have gotten the chance to go there and to have such a highly rated fertility clinic nearby! That's it for now, Happy New Year to all! I am SO excited for 2010! :)
